Over 4.4 million people suffer from dementia in India, almost 1 in every 16 households has a Dementia patient. Only 10% of the cases are diagnosed for dementia in India.
Patient dignity and quality care begins with awareness about the disease. Awareness drive helps people understand the risk factors, early warning indicators and symptoms of Dementia. This enables them to support and guide others who may be facing the onset of dementia.
The awareness drives are usually conducted through presentations, information booklets, and seminars by doctors, clinical psychologists and social workers for older adults. Public campaigns like awareness walks, street plays and workshops are also conducted to sensitize younger generations. We organize events and activities to create awareness about dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
The awareness drives are conducted in public places like hospitals, primary health centres, senior recreation centres, senior citizen associations, senior living facilities and other public places and public events.
